The International Cartagena Film Festival will be holding its 49th edition on February 27 to March 8th. The event takes place in the historic city of Cartagena. This is the oldest film promotion event in all Latin America.
The event has included an Official Competition of Feature Films, Short Films and Colombian cinema. The festival unites some of the most recognized actors in the film industry worldwide. The event has had guests in the past such as Danny Glover, James Caviezel, John Leguizamo, Jack Nicholson, Marlon Brando, Kirk Douglas, Jackie Chang, Richard Dreyfuss, Ron Howard, Benjamin Bratt and Catalina Sandino among others. During the festival the organizers host the Producers Event. This a summit of production companies who participate in order to find projects to develop and produce locally.
Empire Film Group has plans to film several projects in Colombia that it has been developing including "Havana Heat" and "The Final Game."
