Madison Wisconsin Police Use TASER to End Suicide Attempt

According to an article in the February 10, 2009 edition of The Daily Cardinal entitled, "Police intervene in woman's suicide attempt with Taser," Madison officers used a TASER(r) ECD to disarm and subdue a 24-year-old woman who already cut her neck and arm with a knife.

According to the article, when asked about the use of the TASER device and beanbag rounds were necessary for this situation, Joel DeSpain, the Public Information Officer said, "Yes, the officers made it clear they believed it saved her life."
