CINCINNATI, OH--(Marketwire - February 18, 2009) - Cold Jet,
the world leader in dry ice blast cleaning and production technology,
today introduced its new high-tech machining and manufacturing facility in
Milford, Ohio. The 14,600 square foot facility, additional staff and $2.5
million of investment in state-of-the-art equipment allow Cold Jet to
continue to innovate and provide the highest quality precision production
processes for its patented nozzles, dry ice blasters and dry ice production
equipment.
The new facility boasts several cutting-edge processes, including
Electrical Discharge Machining, a machining method that makes it possible
to effectively cut detailed contours and cavities in hardened steel and
exotic metals while allowing tolerances to be held at +/- 0.0001" for
precision product manufacturing. Between the new facility and Cold Jet's
Loveland, Ohio headquarters, the company now has more than 35,000 square
feet of manufacturing and assembly space.
"With our new facility, we have tighter control over our manufacturing
processes, which will allow us to reduce the time it takes to develop and
deliver products to our customers," said Gene Cooke, president and CEO of
Cold Jet. "Our new machining and manufacturing capabilities distinguish
Cold Jet as the trusted and proven technology leader, and furthers our
mission of leading the industry in innovation and quality. The facility
complements our assembly operations, R&D lab and testing cell, and allows
us to offer the most advanced development-to-delivery group of integrated
facilities in the market."
Cold Jet currently has the broadest and largest installed customer base
providing solutions to thousands of customers worldwide in the automotive,
plastics and rubber, packaging, medical device, printing, food processing,
and contract cleaning industries. Cold Jet's dry ice blast
cleaning systems use non-abrasive recycled CO2 in the form of dry ice
pellets or particles for a variety of cleaning applications. The
environmentally responsible cleaning process helps to reduce waste and
eliminate the need for toxic cleaning solutions.
The company's dry ice production systems are fully automated and can
operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The systems produce the highest
density extruded dry ice available and feature a number of dies that
produce various size nuggets and pellets. Today, every major natural gas
company around the world is using a Cold Jet dry ice production system.
"For 23 years, Cold Jet has pioneered the application of recycled carbon
dioxide to reduce and/or eliminate the use of toxic chemicals and
waste-generating processes for cleaning, paint stripping and surface
preparation," added Cooke. "Our Aero Series
and i3MicroClean systems are the industry
standard, and we have developed custom cleaning systems for everything from
nuclear waste treatment plants to automotive weld lines. Our new facility
and manufacturing team will allow us to continue to deliver the value and
performance that our customers have come to expect from Cold Jet while
improving manufacturing quality and reducing time of delivery. "
