About Katherine Hays
Katherine Hays was named CEO of GenArts shortly after a round of investment
into the company from Insight Venture Partners in July 2008. Since joining
GenArts, Ms. Hays has begun to execute on a vision for aggressive growth
that has resulted in the company's addition of Steve Bannerman as CMO, as
well as the recent acquisition of U.K.-based visual effects company
SpeedSix.
Prior to joining GenArts, Ms. Hays was the co-founder and COO/CFO of
Massive, Inc., creator and operator of the world's first video game
advertising network, which was acquired by Microsoft in 2006. Ms. Hays is
the co-inventor and author of two technical patents relating to Massive's
real-time advertising solution and the inventor of a patent for composite
media delivery during her time at Microsoft.
Ms. Hays' previous background was in general management and finance
specific to the media industry. She is a former Equity Research Analyst
with Goldman Sachs, where she covered global media companies such as AOL
Time Warner, Disney, News Corp. and Vivendi Universal, as well as headed
the firm's digital and interactive media team. Ms. Hays worked in
investment banking with Salomon Smith Barney in the firm's media and
communications practice prior to her time at Goldman. Ms. Hays graduated
with honors from Princeton University with a degree in Art and Archaeology.
Ms. Hays holds an MBA from The Harvard Business School.
Ms. Hays also sits on the board of the International Friends of the Louvre
as well as the George Eastman House, considered the world's most
prestigious film and photography museum.
