PARSIPPANY, N.J., March 30, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- GenTek Inc. (Nasdaq:GETI) announced today that it will distribute its proxy materials for the 2009 Annual Meeting of Stockholders via the Internet in accordance with the Notice and Access rules adopted by the SEC.
On March 31, 2009, the Company will begin mailing a Notice Regarding the Availability of Proxy Materials for the Annual Meeting to all Stockholders of record as of March 16, 2009, the Record Date. Stockholders will also be able to vote via the Internet by following the instructions on the Notice being mailed this week.
Under the SEC's Notice and Access model, companies may furnish proxy materials to stockholders by posting them on an Internet website and providing stockholders with notice of the availability of the proxy materials. The Company expects to substantially reduce the number of printed copies of its 2008 Annual Report and Proxy Statement as well as reducing the costs of printing and mailing these materials to stockholders.
The Annual Meeting will be held at the offices of Latham & Watkins, LLP, 885 Third Avenue, New York, New York on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 1:30 pm.
