CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - April 1, 2009) - The Illinois Technology Association (ITA) is
proud to announce its support of Startup Weekend Chicago
(http://chicago.startupweekend.com/) by providing its TechNexus facility,
April 3-5.
Startup Weekend is a community building event that brings together a highly
motivated group of developers, business managers, startup enthusiasts,
marketing gurus, graphic artists and others to meet during a rapid 54 hour
event to develop projects and flesh out ideas on next generation companies.
While Startup Weekend has gone to dozens of cities over the past few years,
this is the first time it will be held in Chicago. ITA will host Startup
Weekend at TechNexus -- a 20,000 square foot multipurpose "clubhouse" for
the Illinois technology that includes huddle rooms, conference rooms,
hoteling space for ITA members to help foster dialogue and drive community
collaboration.
"Startup Weekend is an incredible program that brings together top talent
to build the companies of the future," said Fred Hoch, ITA President. "We
are excited it has decided to come to Chicago and thrilled to be able to
host the participants at TechNexus."
Startup Weekend is supported locally by the Coleman Entrepreneurship Center
at DePaul University and nationally by Media Temple.
