Keynote Speakers at AIIM and ON DEMAND Target All Aspects of the Latest in Digital Printing and Document Management

PHILADELPHIA, PA--(Marketwire - April 2, 2009) - The Pennsylvania Convention Center has flourished with a crowd interested in the latest technology for document management and digital printing developments. Keynote speakers for both AIIM Expo and the ON DEMAND exposition have discussed the most pressing issues in both industries, and key factors to keeping an innovative business running smoothly in today's rapidly evolving world of technology.

"The keynotes and general sessions throughout the event were very well attended, in fact both of the opening day keynote speakers attracted standing room only crowds," said Tom Bliss, Conference Director for Questex Media Group, producers of both events. "The concurrent theme from all of the presenters throughout the four-day events is to take advantage of this moment to move your businesses forward."

The ON DEMAND Conference kicked off with the State of the Industry Address by Charles A Pesko, Executive Vice President of Questex Media Group/InfoTrends. In his remarks, Charles stated, "In today's challenging economic climate, efficiency, convenience, and return on investment are critical. Print service providers should center their messages upon the benefits of their products and services. Customers and prospects are seeking as much value as possible in a weak economy, so now is the time for service providers to communicate that their offerings can save their customers money and deliver improved business results."

Following Mr. Pesko's speech, Mary Lee Schneider, President, Digital Solutions and Chief Technology Officer of RR Donnelley, told her audience, "The opportunity to invest and grow business is now." She emphasized the importance of being cost efficient and making the correct equipment decisions that are most beneficial to any digital printing company.

Another digital printing expert, Sophie Vandebroek, Chief Technology Officer and President of Xerox Innovation Group, stated, "Productivity is important for your business," and went on to discuss all angles of value in productivity and quality control. Xerox is looking for ways to deliver more value to its customers, increase the speed of delivery and create higher profits for its stockholders.

At the AIIM International Conference, John Stenbit, former CIO, United States Department of Defense, kicked off the conference with an intriguing examination of the advances needed to take the industry to the next level of information utility. Following his speech, where attendees had to watch from an overflow room, Robert Shimp, Group Vice President from Oracle led a dynamic discussion with fellow CIOs from Blue Cross Blue Shield, the US Air Force Medical, the Organizations for American States and Wells Fargo on how to successfully promote an ECM project and make it a priority in both the private and public sector.

Andrew Lippman, Founding Associate Director for MIT Media Lab, stated, "Build the environment by 'we' not me," which fed his discussion of the importance of maintaining social applications to build a better social environment. He claims today's banking, health, education, and other institutions are cracking to the exponential growth of social applications, and communities should scale these applications to create a solid institution.

John Mancini, President of AIIM, said during his State of the Industry ECM Address that in a recent survey 47% of organizations found that managing electronic office documents is still a challenge and that modern business communication channels -- instant message, text message, blogs and wikis -- are uncontrolled and off the corporate radar for 75% of businesses.

On Thursday, April 2, the final day of the Expo and Conference, AIIM Expo will be hosting 18 sessions, including a general session with Google Enterprise Product Manager, Rishi Chandra, on the "Collaboration in the 21st Century" from 9:15 to 10:00 am, and a workshop "SharePoint for the Enterprise: The Real Strengths and Weaknesses" from 1 to 5 pm.

ON DEMAND will hold 17 different sessions on Thursday, and also a full-day event: "Print Buyer Boot Camp! - A Print Buyers International Program." The Boot Camp will be presented by Margie Dana, founder of PBI and former print buyer; Frank Romano, Professor Emeritus of RIT and world-renowned printing expert, author, and educator; and Steve Suffoletto, Senior Training Specialist for RIT's Printing Application Laboratory.

In addition to the conference, the trade show floor, which has been buzzing for the past two days with thousands of industry professionals, will be open from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm on Thursday, April 2. Exhibitors are expressing that both the AIIM Expo and ON DEMAND Expo have been very well attended with serious buyers.
