FCIA Showcases Fibre Channel Leadership At Storage Networking World With 8GFC and Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) Demonstrations

ORLANDO, Fla., April 6, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Fibre Channel Industry Association (FCIA) today announced that it will exhibit demonstrations around 8GFC (Gigabit Fibre Channel) and Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE). Demonstrations will take place in booth 508 at Storage Networking World (SNW), April 6 - 10, at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, Florida.

"The FCIA is honored to work with leading organizations that continue to bring advanced Fibre Channel solutions to the market," said Skip Jones, chairman FCIA. "Now, more than ever, IT budgets demand the lowest cost of ownership possible, and they have little to no tolerance for unknown risks. Fibre Channel technologies allow CIO's the assurance that they have the most proven, most widely adopted, highest performance storage technology in the market today. Furthermore, with the rapid adoption of FCoE, IT managers can now also leverage their Fibre Channel investments for further cost, space, and power savings by consolidating their data center IO."

FCIA will showcase for the fourth consecutive time at SNW the synergy between 8GFC and FCoE technology in the data center. This demonstration brings together ten leading companies showing support for FCoE which is stated as "technically stable" by the T11 committee. Companies supporting this demonstration are: Amphenol, Brocade, Cisco, EMC, Infortrend, LSI, Mellanox Technologies, NetApp, PMC-Sierra and QLogic.

The FCIA will also be presenting in the following sessions at SNW:
