The findings make it clear that baseline endpoint security technologies
(such as anti-virus, anti-spyware, intrusion detection / prevention,
personal firewalls and patch management) by themselves do not differentiate
top performance -- although it should go without saying, any company would
be unlikely to earn superior status without them. Closer integration of
endpoint security with endpoint management functions, on the other hand, is
currently a strongly distinguishing characteristic of the companies
achieving peak results.
