Anaheim White House Restaurant Hosts Dinner for Children and Families of Canyon Acres

ANAHEIM HILLS, Calif., April 20, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Canyon Acres Children and Family Services, a charity organization committed to providing homes, care, treatment and supportive services for abused, neglected and emotionally troubled children and their families, today announced the huge success of a recent dinner hosted by Anaheim White House Restaurant. In honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month, the 100-year-old historic restaurant hosted and catered a full dinner for Canyon Acres children and families at Canyon Hills Presbyterian Church, which is near The Ranch, Canyon Acres' premier facility for children in need.

Foster and adoptive families-as well as children and families in Canyon Acres' Wraparound and Creating Family Connections programs-made up the more than 90 attendees. Anaheim White House Director of Catering Amine Aghamir, Executive Chef Maurice Brazier and distinguished White House servers donated their time and effort so that the event could take place. Children enjoyed an Easter egg hunt, pictures with the Easter Bunny and a gourmet Italian dinner.

"Canyon Acres is extremely grateful to the Anaheim White House for its generous donation," said Kristine Peters, Director of Community Relations for Canyon Acres. "Our children and families had a wonderful time, and the event helped Canyon Acres deliver on its mission of providing hope, love and care to the children who need it most."

The Anaheim White House is a historical landmark and in 2009 celebrates its 100th anniversary. The restaurant enjoys worldwide renown for its Italian and seafood cuisine. Canyon Acres Wraparound Services literally help families become 'wrapped' by the community, ensuring all children are provided the opportunity to live in safe and healthy homes. Creating Family Connections searches for and engages long-lost family members of children who have been in the child welfare system for many years, offering a family connection that gives children a sense of belonging and hope.
