Munich/ Grasbrunn, April 30, 2009; In the first quarter of fiscal 2009,
according to preliminary figures, Wirecard AG generated sales revenues of
49.0 million euros and an operating result (EBIT) of 11.9 million euros.
Accordingly, sales revenues were up by 20 percent compared with the same
quarter a year earlier (previous year Q1: 40.8 million euros). EBIT
increased by 18 percent compared to the Q1, 2008 (10.1 million euros).
EBITDA was up by 19 percent, from 10.8 to 12.8 million euros.
The e-commerce market's sustained growth, the trend towards outsourcing of
payment processing services as well as the additional benefits for
merchants provided by Wirecard Bank AG account for the ongoing positive
business performance of Wirecard Group.
The Management Board affirms its forecast of being able to generate 10 to
25 percent EBIT growth in fiscal 2009.
All results are preliminary. The full quarterly report will be published on
May 20, 2009.
