Red Hawk Casino Announces Entertainment Schedule for the Month of May

SACRAMENTO, CA--(Marketwire - May 4, 2009) - Red Hawk Casino is pleased to announce its entertainment calendar for the month of May, featuring performances by platinum-selling artists Marcy Playground on Thursday, May 7 at 8 p.m. and festive roots-rockers, Mumbo Gumbo on Saturday, May 23.

Marcy Playground is best known for its 1997 hit "Sex and Candy," which spent 18 weeks at number one on Billboard's® U.S. Modern Rock Tracks chart. The music of Marcy Playground is composed and minimalist in tone, and is heavily influenced by Kurt Cobain and Nirvana. The band features lead singer and guitarist John Wozniak, bassist Dylan Keefe and drummer Shlomi Lavie.

Mumbo Gumbo blends many genres, from rock to soul, afropop to lush balladry, and zydeco to country. Over nearly 20 years and eight albums, the band has built a reputation for danceability and creative depth. Mumbo Gumbo is an institution on the Northern California concert scene and always makes sure to leave its audiences dancing their hearts out.
