HALLOWELL, ME--(Marketwire - May 19, 2009) - Granite Hill Estates (GHE), the Kennebec
Valley's premiere continuing care retirement community, will conduct its
First Annual Garden Tour on Saturday, June 27, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.,
on the grounds of the GHE campus. Granite Hill Estates is located at 60
Balsam Drive in Hallowell, Maine.
"So many of our residents plant beautiful gardens that... well... we wanted
to show off a little this year," Jennifer Fleck, GHE's Executive Director,
said with a smile. "Some of our residents have gardens throughout their
yards. Others have planter boxes up to six feet long. And they grow a
wide variety of plants and flowers, each reflecting their own tastes,
preferences, and gardening skills. Above all, the gardens reflect the
pride we all take in this beautiful community."
The Garden Tour is free and open to the public. A barbecue luncheon will
be served from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. There will be a drawing for door
prizes during the afternoon. And attendees will be able to vote for the
best garden and the best planter box. The winners will be the reigning
champions until next year's Tour.
To get to Granite Hill Estates, take exit 109 from the south or 109B from
the north off I-95 (Winthrop). Head west on Route 202. Take a left onto
Edison Drive. GHE is on the right.
