About the Author

Viranda Irene Nottingham-Slappy was born on June 27, 1957 in Macon, Georgia. She is the daughter of the late Willie James Nottingham, Sr. and Viriam Purnell Bowman, Korean War Veterans. She is the wife of John Cecil Slappy, Sr. (33 years of marriage), retired soldier from the United States Army and Department of Defense Civil Service employee at the Army Benefits Center-Civilian, Fort Riley, Kansas. She is a graduate of Northeast High School and Los Angeles Community College. She earned an Associate Degree, General Studies in Business Management graduate of Central Texas College, Fort Riley, Kansas. They have two children and two grandchildren. The author is a woman of many talents. She has received many awards for recognition of her outstanding performance. She has published several works like TIL DEATH DO US PART: A MARRIAGE SURVIVES THE STRESS OF MILITARY LIFE and GENERATION IMPACT: AN AMERICAN FAMILY'S TURMOILS.
