Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd - the largest taxpayer in Ventspils also in 2008

JSC Ventspils nafta subsidiary crude oil and petroleum products transshipment
company Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd has become the largest taxpayer in the
Ventspils city municipal budget already for the second year in a row. The taxes
totally paid in 2008 to the Ventspils municipal budget by Ventspils nafta
terminals Ltd have reached almost one million lats. 

“To be the largest taxpayer in Ventspils is not only an honor, but that also
attests the significance of Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd in Ventspils and
interconnection with the society of Ventspils and the Ventspils city
administration,” emphasizes General Director of Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd
Ronald Okker. 

Since 2007, when Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd gained a new co-owner and
strategic partner - the international oil and gas company Vitol - the company
continues ensuring a stable level of transshipment volume. In spite of the
considerable influence of events in global economy and international
competition, Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd has in total transshipped 11.6
million tons of crude oil and petroleum products in 2008, thereby continuing to
increase also all types of tax payments. 

The major taxpayers were congratulated this year by the Ventspils municipality
already for the tenth time - a tradition was started in 1999 to award the
companies that have made the largest contribution to ensure well-being and
development in the city. From 1999 until 2002, the largest taxpayer to the
municipal budget was JSC Ventspils nafta. Now this tradition is revived for the
second year in a row by JSC Ventspils nafta subsidiary Ventspils nafta
terminals Ltd. 

Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd td is a subsidiary of JSC Ventspils nafta. 51% of
it belongs to JSC Ventspils nafta while 49% are owned by the Vitol Group
company Euromin Holdings Limited. The terminal renders transit services:
reception of oil and diesel fuel via pipelines, as well as reception, storage
and transshipment of diesel fuel, motor gasoline and other petroleum products
delivered by railway and sea.
