After 97 Years, Titanic Docks in New York City

Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition to Open At Discovery Times Square Exposition On June 24, 2009

ATLANTA, June 4, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- RMS Titanic, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Premier Exhibitions, Inc. Located in the heart of Times Square, at the former printing press room of The New York Times, the 12,500 square foot Exhibition will feature the largest collection of Titanic artifacts, many on display for the first time after being recovered 12,460 feet below the ocean's surface. This blockbuster Exhibition, seen by more than 22 million people worldwide, takes visitors on a journey back in time to relive the powerful story of Titanic's fateful voyage. Visitors begin their chronological journey through the life on board by first assuming the identity of a real Titanic passenger and then moving through a series of dramatic galleries including the Ship's construction, life on board, ill-fated sinking, and recent artifact rescue efforts. They will marvel at the re-created first- and third-class cabins, visit the Grand Staircase, and press their palms against an iceberg while learning countless stories of heroism and humanity.

"Ninety-seven years after embarking to New York City, we are proud to announce that the world's most famous passenger liner, RMS Titanic, will complete its maiden voyage," states Chris Davino, interim CEO, Premier Exhibitions, Inc. "For more than 15 years Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition has waited to bring the famous Ship to life in New York and this exciting partnership with Discovery Times Square Exposition in a prime location, is an ideal opportunity for the Exhibition. On that calm night in April 1912, more than 1500 passengers met the same fate no matter their class or place in society. A horrific ending to what was a joyous journey. Their story is our story and it is our honor and duty to share these treasures with New York at such a poignant time."
