SANTA BARBARA, CA--(Marketwire - July 13, 2009) - Carbon Sciences Inc. (OTCBB : CABN ), the
developer of a breakthrough technology to recycle carbon dioxide (CO2)
emissions into gasoline and other fuels, announced that Byron Elton, the
company's President and CEO, last week made his third appearance on the
popular online energy and environment network, CleanSkies, during the "The
Energy Report" with Susan McGinnis, the former anchor of the CBS Morning
News and correspondent for CBS' The Early Show. The clip can be viewed at:

In the interview, Elton discussed how alternative, innovative uses of CO2,
like Carbon Sciences' technology, have come to the forefront, following
increased global objection to carbon. Elton explains the benefits of
turning CO2 "back into something they can use rather than hiding it,"
during the in-depth interview: "There is another solution, something you
can do with the CO2, in our case turning it right back into the exact same
fuels we are using in the same infrastructure and the same supply chain."
During the segment, Elton described the benefits of the company's two
recent milestone advancements that have not only significantly accelerated
the pace of commercialization of their breakthrough CO2-to-Fuel process but
also increased the scalability and decreased the costs of building and
operating an industrial scale carbon dioxide recycling plant.
"In recent months, we've made huge strides with regard to the advancement
of our technology: First, by developing an enzyme encapsulation technology
that increases the functional life of key enzymes, allowing for more turns
per enzyme. Secondly, by reducing the reaction time of its CO2-to-Fuel
process from hours to minutes," said Byron Elton.
As Elton explained further, "We are developing the most efficient, viable,
sustainable fuel technology in the world," said Elton.

About Carbon Sciences Inc.
Carbon Sciences Inc. is developing a breakthrough technology to recycle
carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions into the basic fuel building blocks required
to produce gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel and other fuels. Innovating at
the intersection of chemical engineering and bio-engineering disciplines,
we are developing a highly scalable biocatalytic process to meet the fuel
needs of the world. Our solution to energy and climate challenges is to
enable a sustainable world of fuel consumption and climate stability by
recycling CO2 into fuel. For example, Carbon Sciences' breakthrough
technology can be used to recycle CO2 emitted from fossil fuel power plants
into gasoline to run cars and jet fuel to fly aircraft. To learn more about
