Tara Minerals Hires Key Personnel for Production Start-Up at Don Roman


CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - July 14, 2009) - Tara Minerals Corp. (OTCBB: TARM), a subsidiary of Tara Gold Resources Corp. (PINKSHEETS: TRGD) (FRANKFURT: T8N), is pleased to announce that the company has hired a General Manager and other key personnel for the Don Roman and Lourdes lead, zinc and silver production project. The initial focus for the team is the commencement of phase one production from Don Roman in Q3 2009.

Mr. Orduño, a Mining Engineer with over 23 years experience in the mining field, has accepted the position of General Manager for Don Roman. He is responsible for all mine and plant site planning, budgets, personnel, operations and reporting. For the past 20 years he has worked with Grupo Carso, a well known Mexican conglomerate. Some of his past accomplishments include: General Manager of an underground Gold & Silver Mine, where he managed development of the mine startup until obtaining 3,000 tonnes per day production; Plant Manager for an open pit Lead, Zinc, Silver project, whereby he was responsible for increasing daily production from 10,000 to 18,000 tonnes per day.

Mr. Orduño has also assembled a management team which includes geologists, engineers, metallurgists, an assayer and a purchasing and warehouse manager. The metallurgist, to head the mill recovery, has experience in a vast variety of plant operations, maintenance, leaching systems and chemistry, including copper, gold and silver. He has been able to maintain an 81-90% recovery on his projects. The lead geologist has over 23 years experience with mining companies in different stages, which include Frisco, Peñoles, and most recently, Golden Anvil. The laboratory assayer is a Chemical Engineer with over 10 years of experience in sample preparation, floatation and smelting supervision. The mine metallurgist, in charge of the mine engineering, has over 25 years experience. He has served the role of Superintendent of Mines at most of his past projects.
