EnergySolutions Awarded Hanford Waste Treatment Plant Testing Support Contract


SALT LAKE CITY, UT--(Marketwire - July 28, 2009) - EnergySolutions, Inc. (NYSE: ES) announced today the award of two sub-contracts at the Hanford Site Waste Treatment Plant for the support of waste mix testing. Together these contracts are valued at greater than $15 Million.

The initial cost plus fixed fee base in phase 1 is for the design and fabrication of the M3 PJM Mix Test Stand which consists of a series of skid mounted valves, pumps, regulators and specialized acrylic vessels designed to demonstrate that simulated waste mixing properties can be achieved.

Phases 2 and 3 include waste simulant physical properties testing and scaled hydraulic flume testing in collaboration with Washington State University. EnergySolutions will begin work immediately and complete the project in December of 2009.
