TWO NEW MARIMEKKO CONCEPT STORES OPEN
A new Marimekko concept store opens in Copenhagen today. The 250 sqm store is
located in the Copenhagen's premier shopping district, where several clothing
and interior decoration shops are concentrated. The store strengthens
Marimekko's presence in Nordic capitals.
Marimekko's local distributor in Japan, Look Inc., opened a new Marimekko
concept store (140 sqm) in Tokyo on 17 July 2009. This is already the fourth
store in Tokyo. Currently, there are a total of 19 Marimekko concept stores and
shop-in-shops in Japan.
Marimekko concept stores sell exclusively Marimekko products and carry a
comprehensive selection of merchandise from all the different product lines:
clothing, interior decoration and bags. At the moment, there are about 55
concept stores worldwide in addition to Marimekko's own stores.
