KIRKLAND, WA--(Marketwire - August 28, 2009) - The Heathman Hotel in Kirkland, the only independent, luxury hotel located in the city's vibrant downtown core, has secured two spots on this year's "The Best of 425" listings by 425 Magazine. In an online poll, the magazine's readers submitted their local favorites, selecting The Heathman as the hotel with the best service. Additionally, Executive Chef Brian Scheehser of the hotel's restaurant Trellis was named best chef.

"Receiving recognition for best service is the highest honor for The Heathman Hotel as it acknowledges our staff's dedication to providing guests with attentive, personalized service," said Les Utley, general manager. "We are also extremely proud of Brian Scheehser, our own best chef, as he receives this award appreciating his outstanding culinary skills and commitment to farm-to-table cuisine at Trellis. These acknowledgements are particularly significant to us because they are selected by our own eastside neighbors."

In addition to receiving recognition from 425 Magazine, Trellis was recently praised by Travel + Leisure as one of the best farm-to-table restaurants in the country. The Heathman Hotel in Kirkland was also acknowledged by AAA, receiving its Four Diamond Award® in February.
