A Look At the Emotional Life of Victorian Poet James Thomson -- Author Richard Pawley Provides An Analysis of Thomson's Life and Literary Works

CLAREMONT, Calif., Sept. 14, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Author Richard Pawley offers readers, especially the literature enthusiasts, an in-depth study on the life and writings of the Victorian poet, James Thomson. Secret City reveals a comprehensive look at the man behind some of the great literary works.

James Thomson, one of the most tormented authors of the Victorian era who is best known for his work, The City of Dreadful Night, is the core of Pawley's analysis. Pawley creates Thomson's emotional profile, not through secondary sources alone but also through his writings. He does not simply give a critical evaluation of Thomson's writings and his contribution to the literature of the period. Secret City allows Thomson to tell of his own agonies through his writing; and gives insight to the darker side of the Victorian era.
