DULLES, VA--(Marketwire - September 16, 2009) - Echo360, higher education's first choice for
reliving the classroom experience on demand, today announced the launch of
LectureCapture.com, an online
community designed to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, best practices
and ideas about lecture capture and the role of technology in academia.
LectureCapture.com was created for people who are already using lecture
capture as well as for those who are still exploring how the technology can
benefit their institutions, students and faculty. The site serves as a
central repository for a wide-breadth of information while promoting dialog
and interaction among members of the worldwide community.
"LectureCapture.com is an online 'gathering place' where educators and
technologists can come together to learn more about lecture capture and
discuss how the technology is being used to improve student learning," said
Mike Fardon, Echo360's vice president of education. "As Echo360 continues
to be at the forefront of community-focused initiatives, we're excited to
introduce a place where anyone interested in lecture capture can network
with colleagues worldwide, share best practices and explore new ways of
applying the technology."
Central to LectureCapture.com are user forums where
community members can participate in discussion groups. More than 200
lecture capture resources -- from whitepapers and case studies
to conference proceedings and journal articles -- are also available.
Technical forums with dozens of how-to and troubleshooting
articles written by Echo360 technical support staff help current Echo360
users get the most from their lecture capture system as well as provide a
medium through which they can engage in discussions with other Echo360
users.
In addition, LectureCapture.com features a calendar with
listings for all lecture capture-related industry events and a blog where
members can get the latest industry news and updates.
The launch of LectureCapture.com is the next step in Echo360's drive to
foster an open body of support for the greater lecture capture community.
In June 2009, the Company created the Echo360 Research Grants Program,
which will endow four institutions with $10,000 to examine the academic
impact of lecture capture and publish their findings worldwide.
