20th MARIMEKKO CONCEPT STORE OPENS IN JAPAN
Marimekko's distributor in Japan, Look Inc., today opens its 20th Marimekko
concept store (200sqm). The new store, located in the Ginza district, is already
the fifth Marimekko concept store in Tokyo.
During the January-June period of 2009, Japan became Marimekko's largest export
market. Five new Marimekko concept stores have been opened in Japan this year.
The building of the shop network, begun in 2006, supports Marimekko's
internationalisation strategy where concept stores and shop-in-shops play a key
role. There are now about 55 concept stores worldwide in addition to Marimekko's
own shops.
The Marimekko concept stores sell exclusively Marimekko products and carry a
comprehensive selection of merchandise from all the different product lines:
clothing, interior decoration and bags.
The address of the new Tokyo concept store is:
3-3-16 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Japan
