South Asian telecommunications service provider selects Net Insight for international video contribution network

Stockholm, Sweden - Net Insight, a leading provider of efficient
optical transport solutions for media, broadcast and IP networks has
signed a frame agreement and received the first order from an Asian
telecommunications service provider for an international video
contribution network connecting a South Asian country with major
cities in the US, Europe and Asia Pacific.

The service provider, operating a comprehensive terrestrial, subsea
and satellite network, is deploying a new media transport solution
using Net Insight's Nimbra platform. The network will initially allow
exchange of content between multiple cities in this South Asian
country and a number of cities in the US, Europe and Asia Pacific.
Under the five-year frame agreement, the service provider and its
affiliates are able to gradually extend the service offering and
connect new customers by procuring additional Net Insight products
and services.

Based on a fully redundant core network with dual Nimbra nodes at all
POPs, the operator is able to offer its customers video connectivity
with various degrees of availability using the broad range of routing
and restoration features of the Nimbra platform. The first phase of
the network comprises Nimbra multiservice switches carrying
compressed video (ASI and IP) over optical links with guaranteed
quality of service. The Nimbra Vision network management system gives
the network operator superior manageability and full control of the
network from its network operations centre.

The equipment will be delivered during the fourth quarter of 2009.
