Hanna's War Shares a Story of Love and Courage -- Author David Lynn Edwards Shares the Unforgettable Story of His Wife Who Faced An Unbeatable Foe With Grace, Dignity, and Uncommon Valor

HACKENSACK, Minn., Sept. 23, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Author David Lynn Edwards pays tribute to his beloved wife of over thirty-eight years through a touching memoir that shares her long struggle with cancer. The author, her husband, describes that struggle as a decade of "exhilarating highs and gut-wrenching lows." In Hanna's War, he demonstrates the true strength of the human spirit in the face of great adversity as he narrates his wife's experience with graphic detail and moving narrative.

Hanna's War takes readers on Hanna's sixty-year journey from her birth in war-torn Germany in 1944 to her death in 2004 following a ten-year struggle with breast cancer. That struggle walks the reader through her exams, surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation treatments, emergency room visits, and hospice residence; nearly all of which the author chronicled in more than six-hundred fifty pages of journal entries captured as they happened. Many of them are shown unedited in this book.

A love story and also a book of courage, Hanna's War is beautifully written by the author, depicting the long struggle with illness as well as other obstacles Edwards and his wife encountered through the years. It proves that nothing can defeat the strength of the human spirit, not even cancer. Engaging, witty, and sensitive, the memoir allows Hanna's strength, adaptability, indomitable spirit, and relentless zest for life to shine through the pages.
