WASHINGTON, Sept. 28, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mondo, a global leader in the flooring market, introduced Harmoni Smooth, its newest commercial rubber flooring product, today at the Council of Educational Facility Planners International Annual World Conference & Expo.
"Harmoni Smooth gives architects, designers and contractors a durable, easy-to-maintain, smooth flooring product in a variety of colors to fit a wide range of commercial applications," said Federico Stroppiana, president of Mondo North and South America. "We conduct extensive research to develop high-performance contract flooring that is environmentally friendly and helps end-users create a superior working, learning or healing environment, and the new Harmoni Smooth is a perfect example. And because it's made from rubber, which is sustainable, Harmoni Smooth contributes to LEED initiatives."
The new flooring features a smooth finish that's easy to maintain -- it doesn't require stripping or waxing -- and is resistant to wear, abrasions and chemicals, including those in most cleaning products. Plus, the slip-resistant surface is comfortable underfoot, significantly reduces foot-traffic noise and can withstand high static and rolling loads, such as tables, chairs and carts.
In addition, Harmoni Smooth helps to create a healthy indoor environment because it's free of toxic components, and it is antibacterial and antimicrobial throughout. It also has been GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute.
The flooring is ideal for a variety of commercial applications, including hospitals and other healthcare facilities, fitness facilities, churches, retail environments, schools and light industrial installations. It comes in 3 millimeter and 4 millimeter tiles and rolls, and it is 100 percent recyclable.
Harmoni Smooth is available in 32 colors with an additional eight available as accent colors. The color palette was developed based on the results of color trends research that was conducted by Color Marketing Group. The premier international association for color design professionals, CMG researches and identifies color trends and influences and has been accurately predicting color trends for more than 45 years.
