SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - September 30, 2009) - The Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and
Marina in San Diego announced today that a $1 million renovation of
20,000 square feet of meeting space is nearing completion. A new Regatta
Pavilion will debut in the coming weeks and its Bayview Ballroom and
Penthouse have reopened after an extensive makeover.
"While many hotels in San Diego have been cutting back due to the weak
economy, we've been making upgrades to our meeting rooms and amenities,"
said Alex Willow, director of sales and marketing at the Hyatt Regency
Mission Bay. "Our new Pavilion and redesigned Bayview Ballroom and
Penthouse will offer our corporate and association business guests more
opportunities to enjoy our beautiful coastal location."
From sunset galas to large meetings and exhibits, the 10,000 square-foot
Regatta Pavilion will accommodate approximately 750 guests for a banquet
and 900 for a reception. In addition to multiple windows, sections of the
Pavilion can be uncovered to take advantage of the views of Mission Bay.
Additional features include large wrought-iron chandeliers and elegant
draping.
Just a few steps away from the site of the Regatta Pavilion is the newly
renovated Bayview Ballroom, which can accommodate 500 for a banquet and 650
for a reception. With floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Mission Bay, the
6,132 square-foot space now features contemporary ceiling lighting with
wave glass, wall coverings, paint, moldings, stylish black-out drapes, as
well as new air wall covers and furnishings.
In the Bayview Foyer, new moldings, wall sconces and paint, as well as
soffits or drop ceilings with modern lighting were also added for an
elegant yet undeniably San Diego atmosphere for group gatherings. The
nearby restrooms were also renovated with new artwork, wall coverings,
moldings and paint.
Sitting on top of the Hyatt's tower on the 18th floor, the 3,200
square-foot Penthouse offers stunning 360 panoramic views of Mission Bay,
the Pacific Ocean and downtown San Diego. The Penthouse now boasts a modern
look with an ocean-inspired palette. Upgrades include new décor, paint,
furnishings, linens, lighting fixtures and carpet.
"We have the highest view in Mission Bay and all of the beach areas. And,
the Penthouse is very versatile and can be used for many different
functions including a private board meeting, private reception up to 50
people or as a hospitality suite," continued Willow.
