AEP Networks Releases New Version of Its Award-Winning Netilla Product Line

Version 6.4 Offers Simple, Remote Access to Office PCs With New Premium Licensing

SOMERSET, NJ--(Marketwire - October 6, 2009) - AEP Networks, a leader in secure communications and networking, today announced the availability of the latest version of its AEP Netilla secure application access product line. AEP Netilla version 6.4 includes MyDesktop, a new feature that enables users to access their office desktop personal computers from remote locations. In conjunction with the 6.4 release, a new simplified license model is in effect for both Netilla hardware appliances and the product line's Virtual Edition.

The AEP Netilla gateway appliance enables secure, browser-based access to a broad range of business applications including seamless support for Windows Remote Desktop Services and Citrix XenApp. Remote workers, branch office employees and business partners can quickly and securely reach virtually any resource used in a company's business with any PC, laptop or thin client device.

The new MyDesktop service provides premium users with secure, user-friendly access to a PC from anywhere, offering office employees more flexible work options, such as working from home or while on a business trip. Setup and management has been greatly simplified with the introduction of this new service. In the past, network administrators would separately configure desktop access for each user. MyDesktop's plug-and-play functionality creates user configurations automatically via Active Directory. Users are granted secure, remote access to their individual desktops via automatically created access control lists (ACLs).

The new, simplified license model for the Netilla product line offers a services-oriented approach, making it easier for customers to decide which capabilities they need and, therefore, which license type is best. With the AEP Netilla hardware models, customers can choose from two levels of user licenses, standard and premium. Standard services continue to be included with the hardware and are unlimited with no per user cost. Premium services are offered for an additional per concurrent user charge with quantity discounts available. AEP Netilla Virtual Edition (VE) offers one license, which provides complete functionality equivalent to that of a premium user license. With the new licensing model, customers can purchase as few as five user licenses, with no additional cost for the Netilla VE virtual appliance.

"We are excited to announce our newest version of Netilla. To meet the demands of our customers and their often mobile workforce, our new service, MyDesktop, enables workers to easily access their PCs from home or while traveling. Employees benefit from the flexible work options this provides and employers benefit from an increase in productivity. Work no longer needs to be put on hold during business trips; office workers who travel can access their desktops and complete business critical projects. Configuration and administration is very simple compared to other solutions and with our new, simplified licensing model, customers can easily decide which services they need," commented Pat Donnellan, CEO of AEP Networks.
