HERNDON, Va., Oct. 13, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command and the Mission and Installation Contracting Command Center has awarded Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) a contract to support the U.S. Army Security Assistance Training Management Organization (USASATMO).
Under the terms of the five-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity multiple-award contract, which has a ceiling value of $140 million, Northrop Grumman will support training, logistics and maintenance of selected friendly foreign military and paramilitary forces through the use of security assistance teams.
Northrop Grumman is the prime contractor, partnered with System Studies and Simulations, Huntsville, Ala.; NEK Advanced Securities Group, Albuquerque, N.M.; and RLM Communications, Fayetteville, N.C.

USASATMO deploys and sustains security assistance teams in support of U.S. foreign policy and national interests. Teams are organized to support mobile training, extended training service and technical assistance. These teams provide technical and training support as well as assistance to foreign military forces using equipment and technology supplied by the United States.
