Houston Mayor Bill White Proclaims "Zeons Day"

HOUSTON, Oct. 28, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Houston Mayor Bill White recognized Zeons during last week's public session of Houston City Council for its outstanding efforts to provide "Clean and Affordable Energy for All." As part of this recognition, Mayor White proclaimed October 20, 2009 as "Zeons Day" in Houston, TX.

Zeons' mission is to make clean and affordable energy available for all. In its third year, it has $65 million in annual revenue with operations in 18 locations spread across four countries. With most of its 110 employees under age 40, Zeons is capturing the new generation's excitement for renewable energy, responsible global citizenship, and corporate collaboration, setting itself the challenge to move over a billion gallons of renewable fuels in North America in the next 3 years under its new brand.

Zeons' philanthropic efforts include donations to endow a chair in Pakistan Studies at the University of Texas, to assist the Prince Agakhan Foundation's health initiatives in South Asia, and to support the Farmers' Initiative Program in India.

Zeons is a world leader in the development of alternative fuel sources and their distribution to the marketplace, especially biofuels. Zeons shows its commitment to an "increased adoption and promotion of renewable energy sources" by investing in green power plants and in the production and distribution of fuels such as B20 biodiesel.
