ORANGE, Calif., Oct. 29, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Canyon Acres Children and Family Services, a Southern California charity organization committed to providing homes, care, treatment and supportive services for abused, neglected and emotionally troubled children and their families, today announced its 2009 holiday fundraising and gift-giving campaign, entitled 'Be an Angel for Our Kids.' The campaign runs through December 31.
Starting now, individuals and corporations can make cash donations at www.canyonacres.org. Starting on December 1, Canyon Acres will begin accepting gifts and gift cards for children and families in the agency's care. Funds raised will support Canyon Acres' cutting-edge programs like Creating Family Connections (CFC) and Foster Care & Adoption.

"Via this generous support, Canyon Acres is able to help children, through a variety of programs, heal from their wounds of abuse and neglect and find hope for a brighter future."

CFC searches for and engages long-lost family members of children who have been in the child welfare system for many years. Since its 2004 inception, CFC has located 3,545 family members and has connected 1,601 of those family members to youth in the agency's care. Foster & Adoption services are dedicated to finding children a healthy, happy, Forever Family.
