Yoga Poses in a Child-Friendly Manner -- New Picture Book Introduces Children to the Benefits of Yoga

SPARTA, N.J., Nov. 5, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Teacher and a mother of two Angela Faith Miller shares with children the joys and benefits of the mind and body exercise through a vibrantly illustrated picture book. Released through Xlibris, Animals Do Yoga and so do I is a fun tool for children to be introduced to daily yoga practice.

As dogs wag their tails and as butterflies flap their colorful wings, children too can flex and bend their bodies to exercise the muscles and release the negativity within. Animals Do Yoga and so do I intends to foster the natural creativity of children in order to provide a lifelong practice of resourcefulness and self-expression through yoga. With charming illustrations and amusing characters, this book entices young readers as it provides an interactive story about the relationships of all living creatures by demonstrating yoga poses in a child-friendly manner.

Yoga, being a noncompetitive approach to wellness, promotes body/breath awareness, creative expression, flexibility, and focus. Presenting a worthwhile way to connect with self and others, Animals Do Yoga and so do I will entertain both children and adults. For more information on this book, log on to www.Xlibris.com.

About the Author

Angela Miller, RYT, MS, stumbled upon yoga thirteen years ago and experienced firsthand its transformational power. The evolution of her own practice led her into teaching others. A certified elementary teacher, Miller aspired to bring her passion for yoga and teaching together in a worthwhile, cohesive vocation. By embracing her role as both teacher and student, she was inspired to write this book.

Miller instructs practitioners of all ages-from infants to the senior community. Yoga is a practice for "every" body. Her approach is simple. Listen to your body, follow your spirit, be ever present and the rest will come. A mother of two, Miller knows that yoga is a wonderful gift parents can give to their children. She resides in New Jersey with her husband, Ken; son, Cooper; daughter, Carly; and Monty, their devoted canine companion.
