Maxim Announces a New Generation of RF Chipsets for Wireless Video

Maxim and AMIMON Join Forces to Provide Best-in-Class WHDI Solutions

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Nov. 10, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Maxim Integrated Products (Nasdaq:MXIM), the industry leader in innovative analog and mixed-signal silicon solutions, announces a new line of high-performance RF chipsets for wireless video applications. Maxim will partner with AMIMON, Inc., the provider of WHDI(TM) (Wireless Home Digital Interface(TM)) solutions, to offer a joint reference design based on the new Maxim(R) MAX2850/MAX2851 WHDI RF chipset that interfaces directly to the AMIMON AMN 2120/2220 WHDI baseband chipset.

The Maxim-AMIMON WHDI solution enables wireless streaming of uncompressed 1080p/60Hz HD content. This solution can be embedded into consumer electronic (CE) devices such as LCD and plasma HDTVs, multimedia projectors, notebooks, A/V receivers, Blu-ray Disc(R) players, set-top boxes (STBs), game consoles, DVRs, PCs, and HD video accessories/dongles.
