BIGBANK, as the first Estonian bank, opened today a branch in Finland. The branch starts to offer term deposits in Finnish market. Until now BIGBANK had branches in Latvia and Lithuania, and operated in Finland as cross-border service provider. According to Targo Raus, BIGBANK's Chairman of Management Board, the bank is not unknown in Finland as it has offered deposits as electronic banking service already since May 2008 and there is continuous customers' interest for that. „Opening a branch brings us closer to our customers and enables to offer even better service than before by personal councelling and servicing,” added Raus. Veiko Kandla, Member of Management Board, who has long working experience in financial sector, will start to lead BIGBANK's branch in Finland. BIGBANK's first bank office in Finland will open its doors in November in Kamppi shopping centre in Helsinki. Starting from next year it is also planned to start offering loan services and expand internet banking services possibilities for Finnish customers.
