BEVERLY HILLS, CA--(Marketwire - November 17, 2009) - Ewire -- Salon City, Inc. (PINKSHEETS : SALN ) announced that singer, actress and dancer Mya, currently seen on
ABC's hit TV show "Dancing With The Stars," (DWTS) will star on January's
New Year's cover of BE! (Beauty Entertainment) Magazine. Mya is the third
Hollywood celebrity to grace the cover of Beauty Entertainment Magazine,
Salon City's new monthly print, digital and online publication that debuted
this fall.
Mya was photographed exclusively for BE!'s cover and inside feature by
Hollywood's Keith Munyan, known for his ability to capture the beauty,
energy and excitement of a star like Mya. BE! Magazine's style director,
Christopher Mannor, orchestrated the shoot and brought together L.A.'s
finest session artists to create a new look for Mya.
"Mya is currently one of the hottest dancers on DWTS, and she looks like
she is going to make a big impression in the finals coming up later this
month. Mya has fans the world over because of her outstanding singing,
acting and dancing abilities," says Steven Casciola, Salon City's founder
and publisher of Beauty Entertainment.
Mya became a star at the age of 18 with her eponymous debut album, which
yielded three Top-10 singles. In addition to releasing five full-length
albums, one of which went platinum and another gold, she tangoed her way
into the hearts in the acclaimed film "Chicago."
Since "Chicago," Mya has appeared in several more movies and signed onto a
modeling contract. Her fourth and fifth studio albums, Liberation and Sugar
& Spice, respectively, have been released in Japan and her sixth studio
album is due to be released on her independent label early next year.
Annie Casciola, Salon City founder and creative director, noted that Mya's
bio also includes being a long time advocate for young women. She founded
The Mya Arts & Tech Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to
providing disadvantaged youth growth and opportunity through arts and
technology education. She serves as both executive director and teaches for
the foundation. "We love that side of her personality and nature," says
Annie.
