Reviewing of the issue on election of the Supervisory Council for JSC Ventspils nafta postponed

Today, on November 20, 2009, the issue on election of the Supervisory Council
that was included in the previously announced agenda was not reviewed at the
extraordinary shareholders' meeting of joint stock company Ventspils nafta, by
adopting a resolution to postpone reviewing of it until the next shareholders'
meeting of JSC Ventspils nafta. 

Also the second issue on the agenda of the extraordinary shareholders' meeting
of JSC Ventspils nafta - on election of audit committee - was postponed to the
next shareholders' meeting. 

89.42% of share capital of JSC Ventspils nafta was represented today in the
company's shareholders' meeting. 

JSC Ventspils nafta is the central holding company in a transit-oriented Group
whose task is to manage the investments in subsidiaries by promoting the
Group's joint values and growth in the value of each subsidiary individually. 

JSC Ventspils nafta Group is working in the following areas: transshipment of
crude oil and petroleum products; transport of crude oil and petroleum products
by pipelines; a shipping business.
