TRINITY, Fla., Dec. 2, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Bible is inarguably the most influential book in the Western world. According to author Glenn H. Van Doren, Christians view their Bible as consisting of two books, the Hebrew Bible and the Christian Bible. However, new discoveries in archeology and biblical research have brought exciting understandings of these holy books, as many scriptural writings now appear in a fresh light. Van Doren explores these revelations in The Bible: What New Discoveries Reveal.
Released through Xlibris, this book takes readers on a spiritual journey, focusing on the effect of these discoveries on each book of the respective Bibles. The author relays that a significant number of these books were attributed to ancient authors without sure knowledge of their origin and accuracy. However, through modern methods of dating and writing analysis aided by powerful computers, more and more Christians and Hebrews are brought closer to discovering who is and is not the actual writer.
The Bible: What New Discoveries Reveal avoids religious bias by putting new biblical discoveries in an objective context. Through the new scholastic research presented in this book, some conventional thinking is stripped, adding intriguing confirmation that Bibles were essentially based on history and tradition, much of it accurate but some of it erroneous.
This book will be featured at the 2010 London Book Fair in London, England, on April 19-21, 2010. For more information, log on to www.Xlibris.com.
