There is continuing interest in establishment in Uppsala Business Park. Klövern has signed a five-year lease contract with the biotech company Svanova with an annual rent of SEK 3 million. Svanova, which is moving into to over 2,000 sq.m. in February 2011, has an option to expand its premises with an additional 800 sq.m. The premises consist of development laboratories, biotech production and offices. ”Svanovais a very attractive addition to Uppsala Business Park which complements the existing over 50 tenants in a very good way”, says Klövern's CEO Gustaf Hermelin. ”We have a good mix of large and small tenants within both Life Science and public sector activities.” When Klövern acquired the property Fyrislund 6:6 in Uppsala in spring 2006, half of the property was vacant and it was known that the whole property would be vacant by 2008 at the latest. Letting has been successful since then. The Svanova lease is the sixth large new lease contract entered into by Klövern in the past 18 months. Now, taking into account the new Svanova lease, the occupancy rate is approximately 55 per cent. Svanovadevelops, manufactures, markets and sells diagnostic products within veterinary medicine and food hygiene for laboratories and vets. This product range is used for diagnoses of, for example salmonella and foot-and-mouth disease, among livestock herds. Svanova now has around 30 employees and all operations are located at Uppsala Science Park. The products are sold throughout the world and the distribution network covers more than 80 countries. ”Expansion is a important keyword in our activity today.
