BAY SHORE, N.Y., Dec. 18, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- For author Maggie Stephens-Dykes, one has to look back in order to move forward. In her newly published book through Xlibris, On The Morrow, she shares the triumphant account of three influential women in her life: her great grandmother, her grandmother, and her mother in a heartwarming story within a story of forbidden love, inspiration, and motherhood.
Since childhood, Stephens-Dykes has always questioned the cause of her innate self-loathing-a characteristic she inherited from her mother. It is in her book that she explores the origins of this vicious cycle. Delving deep into her ancestor's lives in an attempt to understand her own, the author brings readers to the small town of Valley, South Carolina, where the unforgettable life events of her grandmother Lily surfaced and evolved. It narrates the dysfunctional relationship between a mother and daughter, and is a testament to the indomitable human spirit, emphasizes triumph in the face of overwhelming odds, and how problems were resolved.
A cleverly written and emotionally stirring account, On The Morrow is a must-read for those who are merely curious or those who can relate to families with dysfunctional relationships. This book is enrolled in Xlibris' Bookstore Returnability Program, which gives booksellers the convenient option of returning excess stocks through Ingram Distribution.
