Follow Tom on a Unique Spiritual Quest in Gone to the Stars -- New Book Follows an Adventure Like No Other as a Young Man Embarks on an Unforgettable Journey to Find Meaning in His Life

MIAMI BEACH, Fla., Dec. 21, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tom is a young man who grows up in a privileged world with all the comforts life can offer. Fresh out of college, he works for the richest chairman of the board in corporate America and gets involved in high-stakes takeovers. Yet behind the super jet-set life, Tom yearns to be free from the material trappings that bind him. But freedom comes at a price -- there are always sacrifices to be made. Readers can follow his journey to find meaning in life in Gone to the Stars, a novel by Henrik Barkley de Pearson.

One day, while on a business trip to New York City, Tom's soul separates itself from his body and rises up into the sky along a beam of light. His soul travels to a bright star, which is the entrance to heaven. Returning to Earth, the young man has realized that he now has a soul that is eternal. His out-of-body experience leads him to give up everything -- to renounce his lifestyle and go look for proof to what is eternal in man: his soul. Soon he discovers that it's never so simple to be totally free and that to embrace freedom completely, one must make many sacrifices. But it was a risk he was willing to take.

Tom's new quest for spirituality takes him on a pilgrimage throughout the great American and Mexican wilderness. He looks to strip his soul down to its naked essence and travel to the star again, while meeting a string of colorful characters whom he encounters living on the margins of society and who share their esoteric philosophies with him. Readers can witness how his journey evolves towards enlightenment as they immerse themselves in Gone to the Stars. For more information on this book, log on to www.Xlibris.com.
