NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - December 23, 2009) - With the holiday season upon us, it's a time
of travel for many and the perfect opportunity to develop a story to submit
to Nomadesk's Digital Nomad video contest at www.Nomadesk.com/DigitalNomad.
Contest sponsor Nomadesk, developer of the easiest and most
secure
on-demand file sharing software, is rewarding the person who shares the
best nomadic story -- their choice of two airline tickets to any
destination or a $2,100 mobile technology kit, equipped with a Dell
Netbook, BlackBerry Smartphone, Novatel MiFi, Logitech headset and mic and
a 3-year subscription to Nomadesk. The deadline has been extended 1 month
so people traveling this holiday will have an opportunity to submit their
video story upon their return. Get your entries in by January 31, 2010.
"Nomadesk has sparked the conversation about working successfully from
varied remote locations using today's new technologies. The topic is
critical in today's environment as we look to stay connected and productive
from anywhere," said Digital Nomad Contest Judge Chris Shipley, chairman
and CEO of Guidewire Group and past Executive Producer of DEMO. "The
contest has exposed tremendous creativity and innovation in the way people
are choosing to work, and is empowering to people who are taking advantage
of technology to work remotely. I'm looking forward to casting my final
vote on these stories and encourage everyone to participate by casting
their votes too."
How to Enter
Simply upload your "Digital Nomad" story describing your most productive
day working from a remote location in a video format at
Nomadesk.com/DigitalNomad. The top 10 rated videos will each receive a
1-year subscription to a Nomadesk Team File Server. These top 10 videos
will be judged by a panel of Digital Nomads (see below) and the winner will
receive two airline tickets to any destination of choice or a Digital Nomad Survival Kit
valued at $2,100, which features:
-- a Dell Netbook with Webcam
-- Novatel Mifi
-- Logitech Headset and Mic
-- BlackBerry Bold 9000 Smartphone
-- Nomadesk Travel Backpack and
-- a Nomadesk Team File
Server (3-year free subscription)
Contest Rules
Each video will be rated by the public, so share your videos with friends
and family. The top 10 videos with the most votes will be submitted to a
panel of judges. The Contest runs through January 31, 2010. For details and
requirements, check out the rules and regulations here.
The winner will be announced on February 12, 2010.
Criteria and Judging
A special panel of judges, all Digital Nomads themselves, will review the
top 10 rated entries and determine the winner. Each person can submit one
video entry, which will be judged on originality (where were you working
from and why), use of technology (what products aided you in your ability
to be productive?) and impact (what were you able to achieve or
accomplish?). The judges include:
-- Craig
Crossman, host of Computer
America Radio Show
-- Mike Elgan, blogger and journalist
for such publications as ComputerWorld and Datamation
-- Chris Guillebeau, writer,
world traveler and creator of "Art of
Non-Conformity" Blog
-- Lionel Menchaca, Dell's chief blogger
