Coloplast launches new and innovative silicone wound dressing

Coloplast starts 2010 by launching a new foam dressing with silicone adhesive.
The launch is a significant element in Coloplast's plan to increase sales and
profit in its wound care business.

”The market for silicone wound dressings has double digit growth rates and is
the fastest growing segment within wound care, so the new dressing is launched
to support future growth in Coloplast Wound Care”, said CEO Lars Rasmussen.

The new foam dressing with silicone adhesive, Biatain Silicone, means Coloplast
now has a full product portfolio in the wound care field. The product was
developed following consultations with more than 1000 nurses and doctors in
five countries.

"We have combined our popular foam dressing, Biatain, with a special skin
friendly silicone adhesive, making it easier to apply and remove the dressing.
It gives health professionals what they have asked us for: a flexible dressing
that can be used for many different kinds of wounds. This gives us an edge in
a growing market for foam dressings," says Peter Sylvest Nielsen, Vice
President, Wound Care Marketing.

Biatain Silicone is launched this week in France and later in 2010 in a number
of other European countries.
