Six new video items were presented and advertised at last week’s Consumer Electronics Show, generating significant pre-sale commitments from key accounts, reports Dean Hamilton-Bornstein, Empire C.E.O.
“We’re very encouraged by the support these new titles are generating,” said Bornstein. “Our new distribution structure with P.R.O. is achieving our goals of both reducing our overhead and enhancing our sales, and we’re clearly on track for solid profits in Q1. Empire will be looking to acquire and release additional video titles in 2010 and we have already commenced the marketing plans for our first theatrical release this spring through P.R.O.,” he continued.
New release titles under the Producer’s Releasing Organization venture for Empire include DVD and Blu-Ray editions for the family drama, “War Eagle, Arkansas:” DVD and Blu-Ray editions for the edgy-comedy “2 Dudes And A Dream;” and DVD and Blu-Ray editions for the inspirational feature “Bobby Dogs.” The long awaited release of author Barr McClellan’s “Made in the USA” book is also being handled by P.R.O., but was not featured at the Consumer Electronics Show.
Trade ads for the P.R.O. video releases ran in high-visibility publications during the Consumer Electronics Show, including Home Media Retailer, Discount Store News and Retailing Magazine. The titles will also be featured throughout January and February on the website for Home Media Retailer.
