Standard Parking's Gameday Management Group Scores Sports Event Award


CHICAGO, Jan. 21, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Gameday Management Group was presented with the Silver Award in the Event Services category at the 2009 SportBusiness Sports Event Management Awards. The award recognized Gameday for excellence in its transportation management services during Super Bowl XLIII. The black-tie awards ceremony, which recognizes the innovation and skills of organizations that make sports events happen, took place Nov. 10 at Lord's Cricket Ground in London.  

Gameday's patent-pending Click and Parksm online parking reservation system, which allows event attendees to reserve and pay for their parking online and provides driving directions that are coordinated with local roadway capacities expediting travel times, allowed over 12,500 Super Bowl XLIII staff and spectators to arrive in evenly distributed traffic patterns. As part of its event planning process, Gameday partnered with the Florida Department of Transportation, Public Safety agencies and City of Tampa Engineers to ensure that associated road closures minimally affected local residents and out of town guests. 

The SportBusiness Sports Event Management Awards committee, including newly elected International Olympic Committee Executive Member Sir Craig Reedie, received over 150 submissions from event organizers. Nigel Rushman, Award Organizer and Chairman of Rushmans Ltd, stated, "The Awards are keenly contested and the standard of entry has again been high.  The winners have certainly earned the right to be known as the best of the best."
