Global Clean Energy, Inc. Reports First Tests of Its Hybrid Steam-Reforming Gasifier Successful

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - January 25, 2010) - Global Clean Energy, Inc. (OTCBB: GCEI) has carried out the first series of testing of its experimental scale hybrid steam-reforming gasifier. The tests were performed at Cascade Engineering and Projects in Kingsey Falls, Quebec. Cascade Engineering has built the only functioning steam gasification plant in North America and is Global Clean Energy's engineering, procurement and construction partner.

In this series of tests, the gasifier was brought up to gasification temperature at 60% of full electrical load and even maintained that temperature well after shutdown. At gasification temperature the equipment reacted extremely well to the various data inputs.

The next series of tests will be conducted on-site at Salaberry-de-Valleyfield in premises set up for full installation, gas-capture and venting. With the assistance of Concordia University, scientific analysis will be conducted on municipal waste material to determine their characteristics for gasification into synthetic gas.

Recently, GCEI has received several international inquiries from various multinational corporations interested in performing tests and analysis on their various waste products. Upon completion of testing, GCE will have proven gas sampling and bioconversion rates for multiple feedstocks.

Results of these gasification tests will be available by the end of first quarter 2010.

"Our steam-reforming gasifier's hybrid design will allow us to test and gasify a wide variety of waste feedstock including biomass, organic waste, coal, industrial waste and even high temperature material such as medical waste," said Philip Azimov, GCE Chief Scientific Officer. "We are excited to showcase our technology and to begin serious scientific testing and analysis for our customers."

Steam-Reforming Gasification is an eco-friendly alternative to landfills with the additional benefit of being self-sustaining and/or providing a renewable fuel source. This is one of the major criteria for the company's partnership previously announced with the municipality of Salaberry-de-Valleyfield.
