Following our web news release of February 12th, new developments have emerged on the industrial action front in Finland. The dock strike which was to begin this Friday has been postponed two weeks by the Finnish Minister for Labour. The possible walkout is now scheduled to begin on March 4th, 2010. Negotiations between the union and employers are to resume on Friday 19th. The scheduled date for the threatened road transport strike, February 21st, remains unchanged for the time being. On February 15th, the Finnish Seamen's Union issued a strike threat covering icebreakers, multi-purpose vessels and archipelago supply vessels. The strike could begin on March 2nd.
