SACRAMENTO, CA--(Marketwire - February 22, 2010) - Propel
Fuels, a leading retailer of clean, American made, renewable fuels,
will offer Sacramento drivers E85 ethanol for 85 cents per gallon at its
five area stations on Wednesday, February 24th. The goal of Propel's 85
cent pricing program, in partnership with CALSTART, is to make the
more than 25,000 Flex Fuel drivers in Sacramento aware of the significant
economic savings and environmental benefits of fueling with its
domestically-produced, low carbon fuel.
The Propel stations were partially funded with a grant from the U.S.
Department of Energy that is being administered by CALSTART. As a result
of this grant, 14 new stations have been opened throughout California in
the past 18 months. More than 400,000 passenger vehicles in California are
capable of operating on E85 ethanol.
"This growing network of E85 stations from our partner, Propel, offers
California consumers more choice, while cleaning the air and boosting our
efforts to cut petroleum use in the state," said John Boesel, President and
CEO of CALSTART.
Sacramento-area station locations can be found at:
http://www.propelfuels.com/content/station_locator/. 85 cent E85 will be
available at Propel stations in Sacramento, Rocklin, Citrus Heights and Elk
Grove. Propel will kick off the program at a press event taking place at
10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the Propel station at 7741
Auburn Blvd in Citrus Heights.
