IT - Publication of Genium INET specifications (19/10)

As previously announced Nasdaq OMX will upgrade their current derivatives
platform to a new release, Genium INET, followed by a migration for fixed
income trading from the current SAXESS platform.

Today Nasdaq OMX presents the first draft of the Genium INET specifications.
The documents can be found on our Member Extranet at

http://nordic.nasdaqomxtrader.com/memberextranet/genium_inet/

Before final versions will be presented at the end of April, additional draft
specifications will be published later in March.

Genium INET OMNet enhancements:

We would like to highlight today the following enhancements for the Genium INET
API Interface specifications to be published later in March:

Concurrent Broadcasts
The API has been enhanced with a new functionality to provide a concurrent
connection used for retrieving broadcasts, under the same API session handle,
and with blocking semantics.

This enhancement introduces two significant benefits:

1.	The blocking broadcast read function will reduce the need for frequent
polling during low load, and improves the experienced broadcast latency since
it is not affected by the timing and overhead of individual poll calls.

2.	The concurrent behavior will solve the issue that previously an application
could not poll the gateway when there was a transaction or query in progress
(as these are blocking calls). The only way to achieve a concurrent behavior
previously was to use a second user session (with a different user id) purely
for the purpose of polling broadcasts.

Enabling concurrent broadcasts
The client application uses the existing API function omniapi_set_option_ex to
enable the concurrent feature by setting the OMNIAPI_OPT_CONCURRENT_BDX before
logging in.

Polling broadcasts with blocking sematics
A new blocking function for reading events (omniapi_read_event_block) has been
added that issues read event requests to the gateway. The gateway will the hold
these requests until broadcasts arrive on the gateway side and then release the
API call by forwarding broadcasts, if there are no broadcasts are available for
a specified time period the function will also release the call.

All applications are strongly recommended to make use of the new OMNet
functionality.

Also presented on the member extranet is the presentation held in February and
March introducing Genium INET.
