SCHAUMBURG, IL--(Marketwire - April 1, 2010) - Today, Omron Electronic Components LLC commences a new fiscal year and announces some significant changes among its executive management team. The changes complement the company's launch of its new 10 year vision and act as a strategic measure of continued growth.
Mr. Toshiaki Wakayama, former General Manager of the Connector Business Unit, will succeed Mr. Masa Nakano in his role as CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of Omron's Electronic and Mechanical Components Company (EMC -- headquartered in Kyoto, Japan). As Mr. Wakayama assumes this new role as the manager of Sales Divisions over the global Omron components organization, he will take leadership in the Americas as well as all other Omron regional components subsidiaries.
Mr. Masa Nakano, former CEO, has moved on to take a new appointment as head of the Global Marketing Center, responsible for all marketing activities for Omron's global components companies, outside of specific Business Unit-designated product marketing.
Mr. Yoshiyuki Okada succeeds Mr. Nigel Blakeway as COO (Chief Operating Officer) of Omron Electronic Components LLC - Americas. Mr. Okada previously held the role as deputy General Manager in Omron's corporate Global Business Division, and prior to this, was General Manager for Business Planning and Marketing Omron Electronic Components - Europe. His solid background and experience in the EMC business provides a firm foundation for assuming the leadership of the Americas subsidiary.
Mr. Nigel Blakeway has been assigned by Omron Corporation to support the Strategic Planning Division in developing a globalization plan for the company's next 10 year vision. As the Executive Vice President & Director, He has transitioned to Omron Management Center of America, to work with the corporate management teams in each region to realize this plan. Additionally, Nigel has also been assigned to the position of Vice President for Omron Management Center of Europe and Omron Management Center of Asia Pacific. Finally, Mr. Jeff Rogers has been appointed to the position of Vice President of Sales for Omron Electronic Components. Jeff is responsible for all the Americas region's sales, Application Oriented Sales (AOS), Area Sales and Distribution. In the past year, Jeff has established the AOS focused teams with great success for the company. He will continue to develop the organization together with the management of the regional / area business development.
